About Magic

Magic is building AI coding tools powered by models with extraordinarily long context windows — reportedly up to 100 million tokens. While most LLMs can process 128K-1M tokens, Magic's approach aims to let AI understand an entire codebase at once, not just the file you're currently editing.

This long-context approach addresses a fundamental limitation of existing coding assistants: they lose track of how different parts of a codebase connect. Magic's models can theoretically hold an entire repository in context, understanding dependencies, patterns, and conventions across millions of lines of code.

The company has raised $320M with backing from notable investors and is developing both consumer coding tools and enterprise solutions for large engineering teams.
