Datadog is a cloud monitoring and observability platform that has expanded into AI-powered analytics and LLM observability. Founded in 2010 by Olivier Pomel and Alexis Le-Quoc, Datadog provides infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring (APM), log management, and security monitoring for cloud-native applications.

Datadog's AI relevance comes from two directions. First, the company is building AI into its observability platform — using machine learning for anomaly detection, alert correlation, and automated root cause analysis. Second, Datadog provides monitoring tools specifically for AI/ML applications, including LLM observability that tracks token usage, latency, error rates, and costs for applications built on GPT-4, Claude, and other models.
